Autumn Roses in Yokohama (Yamashita Park, Harbor View Park, Yokohama English Garden)
Visit three rose gardens in three settings: near the station, by the water and up on the hill.

Start at the Yokohama English Garden near Yokohama Station. Built around 2,200 rose varieties, it uses fragrant repeat-blooming roses to keep flowers going from spring through fall. It is open 10:00–18:00 (last entry 17:30), and autumn blooms usually peak mid-October to mid-November.
By the water is the rose garden in Yamashita Park, named the Rose Garden of the Future for passing the history of roses from past to future. Climbers and standard-trained roses show about 1,900 plants of some 160 varieties in three dimensions; autumn blooms usually peak mid-October to early November.
Finish on the hill at Harbor View Park, where English roses mix with annuals and perennials, and the sunken Fragrance Garden and the Rose and Cascade Garden, linking the British House Yokohama with the back garden of Yamate 111, make use of the lay of the land. On Sunday, October 25, the Yokohama Marathon closes local roads around Yamashita Park from about 7:50 to 15:30.
